Madurai
Kamaraj University is a Statutory University, established in 1966 by Govt. of
Tamilnadu. It is recognized and funded by UGC and is a member
of Association of Indian Universities. It has been reaccredited by
NAAC with grade A.
The
Directorate of Distance Education of this university was established in 1971
and has a student strength of about 1.20 lakhs. Madurai Kamaraj University
Directorate of Distance Education has 140 academic centers outside
Tamilnadu and 104 academic centers in Tamilnadu and nearly 20 centres
outside India.
The
University is accorded with the status of University with Potential for
Excellence - A status conferred by the University Grants Commission. So far 9
such Universities in the Country were awarded this status.
About
IGNOU
The
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), established by an Act of
Parliament in 1985, has continuously striven to build an inclusive knowledge
society through inclusive education. It has tried to increase the Gross
Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and
Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
The
University began by offering two academic programmes in 1987, i.e., Diploma in
Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with a strength of 4,528
students.
Today,

University was established on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of University.

About Annamalai Univeristy
The Annamalai University is a unitary, teaching, and residential
university. It was founded by the munificence of the farsighted and noble
hearted philanthropist and patron of letters the late Hon’ble Dr. Rajah Sir
Annamalai Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt, LL.D., D.Litt. He started several
